That means high energy consuming appliances like hairdryers, toasters, microwave ovens, etc. should not be used here since they pull too much power. Samasatti Cabana is located in the Riviera Maya, a tourist destination rich in roots, history and tradition. Surrounded by a relatively undisturbed tropical forest and set upon a beautiful beach, Samasatti is the perfect combination between forest conservation and sustainable eco-tourism.
The cabana is equipped with energy-saving light bulbs, appliances and plenty of hot water. Because there are no other villas around and plenty of greenery and sand, the ambiance is very secluded and tropical. Windows are screened and louvered to allow the breeze to pass through while giving a view of the tropical foliage and the sea.
Amenities include one king plus two double beds, kitchenette, dining room in the main living area, private bathroom with shower and hot water, ceiling fan plus a superb terrace. For ecological reasons, the cabana is not equipped with air conditioning. Instead, two ceiling fans, a well-designed air circulation system and the Mayan technology, “la palapa” (thatched roof), will provide enough refreshing ventilation.
Rental car is highly recommended since the cabana is in a remote location and there is no public transportation. The closest grocery store is in Tulum at the intersection of Highway 307 and the road to Coba. It is recommended to stock up in Tulum. A couple of restaurants are near the cabana but you probably do not want to walk the dark beach at night so a car will allow you to go out to dinner without worry.
