 One of the brightest jewels of the Yucatan lies just 50 miles south of the Cancun airport and resort area. It is Akumal, "Place of the Turtle," and it remains a secluded hideaway where you can truly get away from everything. Club Akumal Caribe offers both bungalows and oceanfront rooms. When staying at the bungalows, the feeling is one of comfort and charm. These were the first accommodations available in Akumal and have since been remodeled and upgraded, of course. The charm of the bungalow-style hotel room is still there, and few hotels today build their rooms with such spaciousness and as separate units.
Our bungalows are situated among the lush gardens of our property and are just steps away from the beach. Although they do not have a view of the ocean, they make up for it in charm and privacy and convenience. Each bungalow has either one king size bed or two double beds, air conditioning, ceiling fan, mini-refrigerator, and best of all, no one below you or on top of your room to disrupt your privacy.

For your dining pleasure, you will love our newly rebuilt restaurant right on the beach with a cool outdoor veranda for dining "a fresco" or inside the impressive palapa with a view of the bay. We feature daily seafood, Mexican and vegetarian specialties in addition to the complete menu that has something for everyone. For a cold drink, quick bite or a full meal, visit the snack bar Lol-Ha and Pizzeria and get acquainted with other guests. You know you will always get what you want here, how you like it and never have to order the same thing twice while on your vacation. You can sample local dishes or get a juicy good old fashioned hamburger and fries. By far, Lol-Ha restaurant has the best reputation of consistent quality and friendly service in Akumal. We pride ourselves in having proved over the years that personal attention and a dedicated staff make a difference.
